Coquitlam city workers have recently found several dead trees around Lafarge Lake.
As a result, crews are scheduled to remove "a number of" hazardous trees around the 1.5-kilometre loop between now and the end of the week.
The procedure is set to intermittently close the trail for visitors to the Town Centre Park attraction.
According to the city, trees identified as hazardous are set to be removed or pruned to keep the trail's safety and integrity in tact.
"Hazardous trees are dead, in decline, leaning heavily [into the trail] or rotting. The City will replace the trees with more suitable long-term species."
Walkers, joggers and other visitors can still access to the Lafarge Lake Loop as detours will be in place to protect themselves and workers on site.
Signs have been posted at the park alerting residents and visitors as well, as seen in the example below.
The hazardous tree removal process to scheduled to be finished on Friday (Oct. 21).
