Burnaby RCMP is looking for help identifying a man who allegedly punched another man in the face after a dispute at the Metropolis at Metrotown mall last month.

The incident happened on May 28 at about 6:30 p.m., according to a police news release Wednesday.

A witness, a 53-year-old man, told police he had seen a verbal dispute between a man and woman outside the mall, the release said.

When the witness attempted to intervene after following the pair inside, the suspect punched him in the face, according to the release.

The man and woman then left the area.

The witness was not badly injured, police said.

The incident was caught on video, according to the Burnaby RCMP, and they have released an image of the suspect in the hope someone will recognize him.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-40s, about six-feet tall and wearing a blue dress shirt and black dress pants.

Anyone with information is asked to call Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999. Quote file number 21-18607.
