Students in Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s public relations program are holding an end-of-year fundraiser at 100 Braid Street Studios this week.

Works of Art is set for Thursday, March 7 from 7 to 10 p.m.

The night includes wine and cheese, live local music, hors d’oeuvres, a raffle and a silent auction.

The fundraiser is raising money for Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that works to empower women into the workforce by providing them with professional attire, career services and skill development programs.

A press release notes that the event is meaningful to the public relations cohort, which is made up entirely of women.

“KPU’s public relations cohort hopes to spark awareness for the need for development programs and support systems for women in the workplace,” says the release. “It also aims to illustrate this by hosting this fundraiser that celebrates local artists and engages the community, and creating an overall enjoyable and memorable experience.”
