Music-loving families, here’s one you won’t want to miss this weekend.

The vocal ensemble musica intima is presenting a special all-ages concert for Family Day on Monday, Feb. 18.

The concert will feature new arrangements of some Sesame Street classics, as well as pieces from contemporary a cappella groups such as Finland’s Rajaton, Sweden’s The Real Group (who, by the way, will be performing in New Westminster on Feb. 22) and the U.K.-based Swingle Singers.

Among the singers in the acclaimed ensemble is New Westminster’s Melanie Adams, alto, along with Burnaby resident Steve Maddock, bass.

Tickets to the concert are specially priced for families: it’s just $50 for a family of four to attend. Single tickets are $30 regular, $25 for seniors, and $15 for students.

The concert is also early – at 4 p.m. – so families can still get young ones home for bedtime.

The fun is all happening at Heritage Hall, 3102 Main St.
