A Lived in City, featuring the work of Tyler Wilson, runs Jan. 2 to 31 at the gallery at Massey Theatre. An opening reception is set for Tuesday, Jan. 7 from 4 to 7 p.m.

The exhibition features recent photography, a mix of framed black-and-white darkroom prints and colour giclee.

“Through this collection I hope to show the beauty of degradation and change that happens in our built environment, and to capture a moment of silence in a normally noisy city,” said Wilson in a statement. “The main subject of my photography is most often the built environment; I love finding the beauty in the city as things degrade, tarnish, get repaired or get repurposed. I hope to share the beauty I find in the well-used human habitat.”

Wilson also hopes to share a love for everything analog – all of the photos were taken using a variety of old analog equipment, without any digital post-processing.

Massey Theatre and the Plaskett Gallery are at 735 Eighth Ave. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m., and during performances at the theatre. Admission is always free.
