The Royal City Gogos are getting in on the fun for the New West Cultural Crawl.

The Royal City Gogos and Friends are hosting Venue No. 28 for this weekend’s Crawl – that’s the Unifor hall at 326 12th St.

The group will be joining forces with artists and artisans to offer a weekend of demonstrations, entertainment and food. In total, eight artists and 10 artisans will be taking part at the venue.

Visitors will be able to take up a paintbrush and contribute to a community painting that will be raffled at the end of the Crawl, or join with artisans to try their hand at carding, felting and Japanese paper folding in mini-workshops. An exhibit titled Many Rivers to Cross: Paddles for African Grandmothers will feature more than 30 carved and painted paddles.

Plus, you’ll be able to enjoy barbecued hotdogs and the famous Royal City Donuts, made available by New Westminster youth ambassadors.

On Sunday afternoon, there will be a chance to sing along with The Ukeladie Band.

The venue is open Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days, with free parking on site. For all the details, check out www.royalcitygogos.org/cultural-crawl.
