A New Westminster musician was honoured at the Fraser Valley Music Awards

Stephen Carl O’Shea (whom you may recognize as the executive director of the Arts Council of New Westminster) earned a Fraser Valley Music Award in the Electronic category for his most recent work, EXPANSE, created with Montreal-based sound artist Daniel Ross. It was released this past spring in a launch event at Old Crow Coffee Co.

The Fraser Valley Music Awards were handed out Nov. 21 in Chilliwack. The awards, presented by radio station CIVL 101.7FM, recognize musicians living in or creating recordings in the Fraser Valley.

O’Shea had also earned a nomination in the Experimental category.
