Art lovers, be sure to stop by the Plaskett Gallery for the next exhibition.
Surfaces ... Exploration and Experience, featuring the work of artist Karen Colville, is on from Tuesday, June 25 to Wednesday, July 31. An opening reception is set for Saturday, June 29 from 1 to 4 p.m.
Colville is a Vancouver-based artist who was born in small-town Ontario and earned her bachelor's degree in fine arts at the Ontario College of Art and Design.
"Intrigued and captivated with the natural and super natural spiritual energies of the West Coast, simplicity in rural living, ecological and lush urban community gardens made her return to creating her visual art as a practice of energy balancing, and a quiet, understated means of communicative expression," says a press release about the show.
The release notes proceeds from the sale of her artworks goes into funding her hyperbaric oxygen neurological treatment to help enable increased mobility.
The gallery is at Massey Theatre, 735 Eighth Ave. It’s open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 1 to 5 p.m., during performances at the Massey Theatre, or by appointment – call 604-517-5900.
