Laughter is the Best Appetizer at this New West comedy show

You can enjoy a giant serving of comedy with your congee at an upcoming New West show.

Laughter Zone 101 is presenting Laughter Is The Best Appetizer, happening Friday, March 13 at the Yauti Jr. Food Stall on 12th Street.

The night will be MC’d by Janice Bannister and will feature comedy by Jason Martin, Casi McIvoy, Ave MacIntyre, Susete Helena, Yixuan Zhang and Ray Morrison.

It’s billed as a night of “fabulous food and a fantastic show all in one place,” and it’s the first in a planned series of such nights inspired by the Eat New West Facebook group. Bannister is partnering with local restaurants that are well-reviewed by customers but that may not yet be as well-known as some of the city’s go-to culinary spots – with an eye on both providing a venue for comics to perform and bringing some new business to independent local eateries.

Tickets are $15, available at www.eventbrite.ca (search for Laughter Is the Best Appetizer). The show is limited to 48 seats, and you must have a ticket to attend. (Dinner and drinks are extra.)
