The gallery runs a regular Inter/Action artist learning series in connection with its exhibitions. The events connect artists with the community for talks, seminars, demonstrations and other interactive sessions.

For this month’s Inter/Action, artist Lex Ireton will be on hand to chat with people about her work on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 3 to 4 p.m.

Ireton, who was born in the Kootenays and raised in New Westminster, attended Capilano University from 2008 to 2011 and found herself dabbling in printmaking, ceramics, painting, drawing and sculpture.

She moved to Calgary in 2011 to study at the Alberta College of Art + Design, where she discovered glass – and that has been her primary material of choice since.

Her work is currently on display at the gallery in Repeat After Me: An Exploration of Pattern, until Aug. 26.

The gallery is open Wednesdays from 1 to 8 p.m. and Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
