Songwriters of New Westminster are invited to gather at a new workshop and discussion group.
The Royal City Literary Arts Society is hosting Songwriter Sessions starting Sunday, Jan. 19 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New West Artists Gallery (712C 12th St.).
The group is open to all songwriters, from beginner to novice, and you don’t have to play an instrument to take part.
“Yes, this group is about writing songs, it’s about getting ‘unstuck,’ it’s about becoming ‘creatively free.’ It’s even more than that. This is a safe place for New Westminster’s community of songwriters to support each other, to encourage each other to keep creating, and to share their music,” said a write-up about the group.
The group will be led by Glenn Wootton and Lavana La Brey, who’ll workshop with participants on a number of ideas – including song structure and writing from prompts.
