The performance that started it all is back at Way Off-Broadway Wednesdays tonight.

Devon More is bringing Berlin Waltz back to the stage at the Heritage Grill backroom at 7 p.m. tonight (Wednesday, Nov. 14).

More’s one-woman show blends multimedia, music and politics as it follows the route of a young woman on her bicycle who travels the 160-km route of the Berlin Wall – reliving the history of its rise and fall, confronting the impact of the Cold War’s victorious West on Berlin’s rapidly changing cityscape.

More uses an assortment of instruments and an electronic looping station to build her wall of sound live onstage, while breaking into beat poems, songs, sock puppet history lessons and stories about the characters she meets while bartending in the former East Berlin.

Berlin Waltz was the first show More staged as part of the fringe performance series – it ran every Wednesday in November of 2016 to launch the series that’s since become a fixture of New Westminster’s entertainment scene.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and admission is pay what you want, by donation. You can reserve a table at 604-759-0819.
