Starting today (June 24), TransLink has increased service on what it called “overcrowded” routes, including Burnaby and New Westminster.

The 2018 Transit Service Performance Reviewinformed service improvement decisions based on advanced route metrics and statistics. TransLink makes service changes four times a year to adjust for seasonal changes and to optimize bus services for changing travel behaviours.

Starting this summer, TransLink will permanently increase service for 26 overcrowded routes and provide more trips to ferry terminals, beaches and other tourist destinations with 13 seasonal increases until Sep 2.

These are the increases in Burnaby and New West:

  • Bringing more weekend trips to the 95 B-Line, 100, and 144
  • Increasing weekday service for routes101, 104, and 123
  • The 100 will run full routes between 22nd street station and the Marpole loop on weekday mornings
