1. Celebrate Christmas Traditions Around the World when Winter Harp brings its magic to the Massey Theatre with the Vancouver Welsh Men’s Choir on Sunday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 p.m. The 80-piece choir joins with harps, flutes, percussion and rare medieval instruments for an afternoon of Christmas music. 2. Enjoy an evening (or afternoon) of entertainment when the Golden Age Theatre presents its fall production at Century House. Local seniors will be performing in three witty and whimsical plays: The Obstacle; Never Too Late; and Gladys & Gloria’s Cannabis Adventure. Shows are on Friday, Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 30 at 1 p.m. (doors open 30 minutes before the shows.) Refreshments will be served. Tickets are $8 for members and $10 for non-members and are available at Century House, 620 Eighth St. or 604-519-1066.

3. Head to Hyack Square for the lighting of the Christmas tree on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 5 to 6 p.m. You can also sing along with festive carolers and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and treats from Kelly O’Bryan’s.

4. Welcome Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as musical guests Bobs & Lolo, to Royal City Centre on Saturday, Nov. 30. Bobs & Lolo will be performing at 11 a.m. and Santa will be visiting from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. (You’ll find Santa at the mall on Fridays from 2 to 9 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m. until Dec. 22.)

5. Take in a performance by Quayside Voices who are performing at New West Artists 712C 12th St. on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at Renaissance Books or the gallery ahead of time or by calling 604-525-4566 to reserve.

6. Support the deaf-blind community by shopping at the Deaf-Blind Planning Committee’s 23rd annual Christmas Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at River Market, 810 Quayside Dr. The sale features 16 tables of unique and one-of-a-kind gifts, decorations and stocking stuffers, some handmade and some pre-made with love and care by artists who are deaf, deaf-blind and allies.
