some of Vanvouver's top culinary folks took part in the Chefs in the Hood event that raised funds for Dan's Legacy, a New West based charity.

Some of Vancouver’s top chefs joined forces to raise funds for a New Westminster-based charity.

Ono Vancouver, a culinary consultancy organization, and Silver Chef, a hospitality financier, recently raised $10,000 for the Dan’s Legacy Foundation.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with the support we received from Chefs in the Hood and all their sponsors,” said Barbara Coates, executive director of Dan’s Legacy. “The funds raised are earmarked for our Dan’s Warehouse program, which will provide job skills training for youth aging out of care in British Columbia. As the entire program will operate under the supervision of our specially trained therapists, we predict successful outcomes.”

The money was raised at the second Chefs in the Hood event, a collaborative pop-up dinner that bought together some of Vancouver’s top culinary talent, including Warren Chow of Juniper, Sean Murray of Pan Pacific, Fumiko Moreton of Mott32, Jay Harris of Collette at Holt Renfrew and Top Chef Felix Zhou of Heritage Asian Eatery. Bruce Nollert and TJ Conwi of Ono Vancouver, Alessandro Vianello of Goosneck Hospitality and Side Sachdeva of Pacific Restaurant Supply, with the support of Silver Chef, organized the event.
