WHAT’S UP?

New Westminster’s annual National Indigenous Peoples Day celebration is happening on Friday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Moody Park.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

It’s a celebration of the diversity of Canada’s Indigenous cultures, with entertainment, storytelling, arts and crafts, and more. Performers will include Smokey Valley, Ronnie Dean Harris, Butterflies in Spirit, the Urban Kwakwaka’wakw Dance Group, Uzume Taiko and Aché Brasil. Teepee Theatre will offer storytelling.

The day is coordinated by New Westminster’s National Indigenous Peoples Day committee, spearheaded by the City of New Westminster, the Arts Council of New Westminster and the Spirit of the Children Society.

WHO’S IT ALL FOR?

Everyone! It’s free, and it’s for all ages, so invite your friends, family and neighbours and turn out for the fun. No tickets are required, so just show up at the park to take part.
