Royal City native and cast member of Heartland Graham Wardle is hitting the road this weekend in support of prostate cancer research and awareness.

Wardle - along with local performer Don McLeod - are hosting a gala and charity auction on Aug. 31 at Vancouver's Sandman Hotel in support of the Prostate Cancer Foundation of B.C. The event will feature Wardle's Heartland co-stars as well as cast members from Bomb Girls and Artic Air - including Adam Beech.

Saturday's event is the kick-off to a six-day motorcycle ride both Wardle and McLeod will be making around B.C. with stops in Chilliwack, Princeton, Cranbrook, Kamloops, Vernon, Kelowna, Whistler, Squamish and Vancouver.

Dubbed "Cruise with a Cause," the fundraising event was initiated by Wardle in memory of his grandfather, Dominic Donatelli, who died of prostate cancer 30 years ago.

"Graham is riding in honour of his grandfather's memory and in fact, was named after him, Graham Dominic Wardle," Graham's mom Deb Wardle wrote in an email.

Tickets are $50 and available online or by calling 604-574-4012. For more information on the event, visit www.cruisewithacause.ca.
