Lunar New Year and Black History Month registration

Register for Lunar New Year and Black History Month programs being hosted by the City of New Westminster. You can celebrate the Year of the Dragon in activities such as decorating a lantern, making a fire-breathing dragon, doing themed crafts, and more. As part of Black History Month in February, a variety of programs are planned to help you listen, learn and reflect on Back history and culture.

House of Comedy

Kick off 2024 with a night of laughter, when New York-based comedian, writer and performer Adrienne Iapalucci performs at the Columbia Theatre in New West. Her credits include Netflix, the Late Show and Just for Laughs.

Paint the Train

Paint The Train, a travelling exhibition, rolls into New West from Jan. 11 to 28. A juried exhibition, Paint the Train features artists’ interpretations of the railway – through a variety of mediums.

Saturday, Jan. 13

Bottle drop

Support local community groups by taking your recyclable beverage containers to the Royal City Rotary’s new bottle drop. This weekly fundraiser will raise money in support of a variety of local community groups and projects. The Hyack Swim Club will be benefiting from today’s fundraiser.

New Year Mosh

Rock out at the New Year Mosh, featuring metal, punk and thrash music by Vampires and Leeches, Luella, Mediaslaves and Omnesia.
