A New Westminster-based team is exploring the world of modern relationships in a new offering at the Vancouver Fringe Festival.
Megan Kurzeja and Chad Kamer are teaming up to present It Figures, a show that explores the realities of modern marriage through the eyes of a young couple, Liz and Chris – a pharmacist and her unemployed husband.
The Meadtri Theatre production is onstage at the Carousel Theatre from Sept. 7 to 17. There is also a free preview night tonight (Wednesday, Aug. 30) at the Heritage Grill, 447 Columbia St., starting at 7:30 p.m.
“When Liz and Chris have their young marriage put to the test, their decisions become life-changing,” a press release says. “Ever wondered if opposites not only attract, but really do last? … As Liz and Chris explore their modern relationship issues, they wonder: What is the average lifespan of a relationship? How do we calculate love with the law of large numbers? What variables lead to the greatest success rate?”
Kurzeja and Kamer, though not a real-life couple, grew up together and have collaborated on several plays over the years.
They’re directed by Trina Moran, who’s also a New Westminster resident.
